WPTS Interview SuperBonus — Goats
Monday, April 6th, 2009Goats! Goats! No cute color on this post but there will be an exclamation every time I mention Goats!
Goats! were the topic of today’s interview, and its actually starting to scare me how often things connect to my grandmother. In this case, goats were a thorn in her side. She had a really nice peach tree we inherited from the people we bought our house from on some farmland in central Texas. My mom was intent on running a farm, so she bought a lot of horses, cows, chickens… and Goats!
The first spring we lived on this farm, the peach tree was starting to bloom and tiny little peaches started to bud and plump on the branches. My grandmother noticed right away and was getting really excited. Unfortunately, so were the Goats! They started scratching and gnawing at the tree, and within weeks, theyd stripped the poor tree of all its protective bark, and the tree didnt make it to June. My grandmother vowed to get the goats sold off, and that’s the indirect reason I ended up with my first computer–a 1981 Mitsubishi.
SuperBonus time… and boy is it a doozy. The circle of life is complete and now my mom has her very own PET GOAT! My mom has a lot of dogs, and she wanted to retry raising goats. Long story short, the goat learned very quickly about how to be a dog, and she now sleeps at the foot of my mom’s bed, eats dog food and sniffs around at everything and every other dog.
Maybe I should start a new TV script…
